About Alex
I
am fully trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine which provides a
multi-layered approach to treatment covering any
disharmony
of the emotional, physical and spiritual
health. I am
passionate about my work and committed to the integrity of my patients'
journey towards well being.
Originally from South Africa I moved to London in the late nineties. As
far back as I remember I have always wanted to help people. This
motivated me to explore different therapies within complimentary
medicine allowing me to acquire an understanding of various holistic
techniques and leading me to my true vocation - Acupuncture and I have
not looked back since.
I
gained my BSc(Hons) degree in
Acupuncture and a Licentiate Diploma in Acupuncture following
3 years study at the London
College of Traditional Acupuncture which is affiliated with
Portsmouth
University.
The subject of my thesis was the potential role of antenatal acupuncture
in labour. I believe that acupuncture, science and research
are constantly developing so I continue to update my practice skills
through post graduate studies attending courses, workshops and other
programmes that offer continuing professional development.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council,
the professional body for Acupuncturists in the UK, I am bound by the
Council's Code of Safe Practice and Code of Professional Conduct, and
their commitment to Control Professional Development and patient
welfare. Membership provides full Professional and Public/Products
Liability insurance and requires practitioners to follow strict
guidelines for practice and ethics and ensures professional standards.
In addition Alex is a member of ACT - Acupuncture
Childbirth Team. ACT is a dedicated group of
acupuncturists with expertise in obstetric and fertility care, working
in the Greater London area.
I treat at various clinics in Barnet, Hendon North London
& Radlett Hertfordshire. Full clinic addresses can be seen on
the contact page.
